The status orange warning, issued by the national forecaster today, reads:Very windy this eve&tonight with SW winds 55 to 65 km/hr&gusting to 110 km/hr. Winds will be strongest in W&NW counties&along SE coast, may briefly exceed these values. Rain widespread&heavy for a time at night with the risk of spot flooding, turn more showery later. Lows 4-7°C.

"A depression now named Storm Georgina will track to the northwest of the country tonight. Southwest winds will reach mean speeds between 65 and 80 km/h, gusting up to 120 km/h for a time tonight".It is expected that south-west winds will be particularly strong and there will be gale force winds along coasts. Storm Georgina is expected to have the most impact between the hours of 12 am and 5 am tonight.
This warning sits alongside two further status yellow warnings issued earlier today.
