Here are some of the major travel updates as Ophelia makes landfall

Ophelia made landfall earlier this morning.

Dublin Bus has just announced they will stop services from 10am today. While peak services operated as normal, the company said there would be "significant disruption" to routes between 10 am and 7pm. Services will be withdrawn from 10 am and resume around 7pm, provided it is safe to do so.

Luas Red Line and Green Line services are still in operation but they say they will be monitoring the situation throughout the day.

"We will be monitoring the situation throughout the day and will take advice from Met Éireann and the National Emergency Coordination Committee as the day progresses," reads the latest update on their website. "The safety of our customers and Luas staff is of the utmost importance."

Irish Rail has notified customers of a series of travel arrangements put in place for today due to the weather warnings for Hurricane Ophelia. They updated customers on their website a short time ago and a number of routes have already been affected due to today's weather. Bus Éireann last night announced that they were cancelling their services from 5am this morning until 2pm today. They said the situation would be reviewed today as they gathered more information and that services might resume later today.

Multiple flights in and out of airports in Ireland have been cancelled as the country braces itself for severe weather conditions from storm Ophelia. Dublin Airport announced on Monday morning that it will be open and operational on Monday and that early morning flights will be operating as normal, but up to 125 flights will be cancelled later in the day.

  All intending passengers have been advised to contact their airline or check their airline’s website before coming to Dublin Airport; the latest information on departures can be found here and arrivals here. Cork Airport is also informing passengers that a number of flights to and from the airport have been cancelled. Again they are asking customers to check with their airline for updates.

Belfast Airport and Shannon Airport also updated it's passengers again asking them to check with the individual airline before they travel.
