Police have launched an investigation after more than €26,000 was withdrawn from a number of bank accounts belonging to some of the passengers who were onboard MH370 flight.

Assistant Commissioner Izany Abdul Ghany told The Mirror: “We are investigating the case as unauthorised access with intent to commit an offence”.

The Independent reports that the money was taken from the accounts of three passengers and transferred into a fourth, which was subsequently emptied out.
The news comes five months after the Malaysian Airlines plane went missing during its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
