Add us as a preferred source on Google »Rachel Gunn, the Olympian breaker known as Raygun, has broken her silence in a new tell-all interview.
Gunn became a global sensation with her unique routine at the Paris 2024 Olympics as breaking made its debut at the games.
But the 36-year-old became the subject of memes and jokes on social media thanks to her moves.
She qualified for breaking’s debut at the Games by winning the Oceania qualifying competition, but sadly didn’t score any points during her performances.
Now, the university lecturer from Sydney has discussed her newfound global fame in a new television interview on Australian TV show, The Project.
In a preview clip for the Channel 10 programme, Gunn is asked: "Do you genuinely think you are the best female breaker in Australia?"
After a pause, she responds: "Well I think my record speaks to that."
The breaker is reportedly one of the most sought after names in Australian television, with a number of channels and programmes having apparently made offers to her.
A source told Yahoo Lifestyle: "The future of one of the world's most talked about Australians, Raygun, is currently being negotiated with multiple TV offers.
"They are looking for exclusive-network-deals that could be 12 to 24 months long, blocking out other opportunities from competing programming."
Paris 2024 was the first time breaking had been included at the Olympics, but it has already been confirmed that it will not be an event at the next games in Los Angeles.
Gunn became the subject of a huge backlash to her appearance at the games, with Australian Olympic officials labelling the internet reaction as "trolling," whilst she was also offered mental health support.
Following the teaser, hosts Sarah Harris, Kate Langbroek and Sam Taunton shared their excitement for the upcoming exclusive, calling it "the interview everyone wants," the Daily Mail reports.
