Last year, the company secured a contract to operate 24 routes, however within the contract it was agreed that all buses must be uniform at the expense of Dublin Bus.
Speaking of the change, Fianna Fail TD for Dublin John Lahart said: "Dublin Bus is part of the fabric of Dublin and I don't think it should be eviscerated so easily.
"Feedback shows the colours appeal to people with special needs and are a help to people who are visually impaired... I think the brand is worth fighting for."
This comes along with concerns that the transport service is on its way to being privatised.
