A vigil has taken place for the four victims of the Clonmel road tragedy. Thousands gathered to honour Luke McSweeney (24) and his sister Grace McSweeney (18), Nicole Murphy, and Zoey Coffey (both 18).
The four victims tragically passed away in a road accident on Friday, August 25th.
Luke McSweeney was reportedly bringing his sister and her two friends to Carlow to celebrate their results.
The single-vehicle collision happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. on the Mountain Road.
The town was left heartbroken following the single-vehicle crash, but thousands gathered to pay their respects.
Over 2,000 people attended the vigil in Kickham Plaza in Clonmel on Sunday evening.
The vigil was led by local clergy and the Mayor of Clonmel Cllr. Richie Molloy.
Thousands have paid tribute to the four victims, including Mayor of Clonmel Richie Molloy.
According to RTÉ, the Mayor of Clonmel said the road accident was the worst tragedy in living memory.
He also told those who gathered at the vigil to keep the victims' families in their thoughts.
"It's very hard to know what the families are feeling this evening, and while we can imagine, it's very hard to know.
"All I can say as the mayor, the people of the town really want to show the families the feeling of unity that's out there."
