Warm temperatures are set to stay this week but have your rain gear ready

It looks like the warm weather is here to stay for the rest of the week and while it may seem like good news, it does come with one major downside. Thunderstorms and rain showers are expected to remain this week, which are set to lead to localised flooding in some areas, Met Éireann has warned. With sunny spell dominated by isolated showers, which will become widespread in the afternoon and evening, the weather across the country is set to turn to thundery conditions and a possibility of localised flooding. Some areas across the country, like Tralee in Co. Kerry, saw major flooding over the weekend, but showers are expected to cool down in most areas, excluding the south and west coasts. Temperatures are to remain warm but mild at 11C to 14C and mist is due to develop in some parts. Tomorrow is expected to see cloudy and showery conditions throughout the day and they will turn heavy in the afternoon and evening, with thunderstorms likely. Temperatures tomorrow are set to rise slightly to the low 20s and showers will be more isolated in the evening with clearer conditions in some areas. Wednesday will see some sun despite some scattered showers throughout the day, with temperatures between 18C and 22C. Overnight it will be mostly dry and clear with light patchy rain and clouds in certain areas, with temperatures dropping slightly to between 9C and 13C.
