Weather advisory set in place as Met Éireann predict frost and fog

It's not looking good.

If you've already been out in it, then you'll know the day is cold. Baltic even. We were shivering all the way to the office. While temperatures are meant to rise throughout the day, there will be some frosty patches in places - and Met Éireann also has a weather advisory in place until Friday. The weather forecaster said: "Early frost and any fog patches will clear this morning to leave a dry day with sunny spells. After a cold start maximum afternoon temperatures will range 11 to 14 degrees in mostly light breezes."

Tonight will be a mix of dry and drizzly patches, however temperatures could drop to 4 degrees. "A dry start to the night with clear spells but cloud will thicken overnight and patchy rain and drizzle will extend gradually northeastwards across the country by the end of the night. Southeasterly winds will freshen and gales will develop off the southwest and west coast by dawn on Thursday. Minimum temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees." The weather advisory states: There is a high probability that Storm Lorenzo will track close to or over Ireland later on Thursday and early Friday, giving high seas, severe winds and heavy rain. Warnings will be issued Wednesday morning.

This is in place from Thursday 3 October 2019 at 12pm to Friday 4 October 2019 at 12pm.
