It's become a key ingredient used in the skincare industry over the past few years, but many of the products that contain significant levels of hyaluronic acid are on the pricer side.
In brilliant news for budget-conscious beauty-lovers, however, Lidl is introducing an entry level hyaluronic skincare range.
Central to the Cien Hyrdo Expert range are two new moisturisers: the Creme Gel for Dry Skin and the Aqua Gel. The Creme Gel is fragrance-free and targeted at those with dry and sensitive skin. Both products include hyaluronic acid and are designed to hydrate the skin, leaving it looking fresh for up to 24 hours.
A permanent addition to Lidl's Cien beauty range, they are priced at €4.99 each.
There will also be a matching serum available for a limited time.
The manufacturers say that the Hyaluron Gel Serum "features a double hyaluronic complex promising to work deep into the epidermis to smooth skin, intensely hydrate and reduce signs of ageing". It's suitable for all skin types and priced at just €3.49 – an absolute bargain for any type of serum, even without the hyaluronic acid component.
The key to using a serum properly is to apply it to your face – being careful around the eye area – after you have cleansed. Serums work with moisturisers so it's not a case of using one or the other: apply your moisturiser on top and the serum will drag it down into the deeper levels of the skin to hydrate from within.
Also available from the Cien Hydro Expert range for a limited time will be a Miscellar Water (€1.99), Cleansing Lotion (€2.99) and Cleaning Gel (€2.99). All of the products use hyaluronic acid or hyaluronic sodium to boost hydration. Use the Miscellar Water or Cleaning Lotion to remove make-up, and the Gel for deep-cleansing of the skin.Signs Charleen Murphy could be heading into the Love Island villa labi e
