8 surprising things I learned from Kylie Jenner: A Day in the Life

If you're a fan of Keeping up with the Kardashians, you're going to like this.

She's the youngest ever self-made billionaire, a 21-year-old mother, a beauty entrepreneur and a member of one of the world's most famous families but, unlike how she's often perceived, Kylie Jenner doesn't spend her days Snapchatting by the pool, in fact, her usual day is exhaustingly long and predominately spent in her office. After a highly requested "a day in the life" video, Kylie decided to produce one for her fans, creating a 20-minute vlog of her jam-packed day. Unlike KUWTK, this vlog is more real with less production and a better insight into what it's actually to be 21-years-old and maintaining a global cosmetics empire.

Here's what I learned

Kylie starts her day extremely early

When Stormi wakes up, Kylie wakes up. Kylie's typical day starts at 5:50am which is then followed by breakfast, a shower, putting Stormi back to bed and getting into glam before 9am. Kylie's following in the footsteps of momager and actual mom, Kris Jenner, who has previously revealed she gets up at 4:30am every morning.

She has a family iMessage group

For the KarJenner family, we presume they keep every single notification switched off and so, the only way they get phone alerts is when someone actually texts or calls them and so, a family iMessage chat is key for the Kardashians.

She has a bedroom dedicated to fittings and a separate room dedicated to bags

Aside from her massive walk-in wardrobe, Kylie has a bedroom where she does all her fittings and then another bedroom for her bags. Can you deal?

We got our first look at her new office

Is this Teen Vogue? Kylie gave us a sneak peek of her brand new office. The office which is rumoured to be located in Oxnard, California, is the new HQ for Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin after the star moved all her employees and marketing team there last month.

The office features a playroom for Stormi, a secret exit and a studio to shoot looks

To be honest, Kylie honestly needs her HQ to be equipped with everything because she spends practically her entire day here. In the YouTube video, we see Kylie rocking up to the office at 10am and in meetings and shoots until 6:30pm with no break.

She has a new Stormi necklace

Kylie is some woman for one woman when it comes to the jewels. Rocking a new Stormi necklace while making a quick dash from the office to home to a party, you couldn't miss Kylie's neck bling.

We wonder when she eats or sees Travis?

In Kylie's video, unlike any episode of KUWTK, we get timestamps as to where she is at every hour and if she wasn't in a meeting, she was dashing to the next or heading out for the evening. In a quick phone call to Travis, Kylie asks him if he's at the house to which he replies "at the studio" and she says she will see him at midnight. We also only see Kylie eat a salad at 11am before rushing to dinner and a surprise party after 8pm. We hope she keeps snacks in her handbag.

She goes above and beyond for her friends

The final part of the 20-minute documentary was what I loved the most. It was so clear that Kylie is surrounded by a loving support group who truly care about her. In the final few minutes, she surprises her makeup artist, Ariel, with a ring for his birthday - a ring that he recalls he has wanted "for six months". The two become very emotional and the feelings of love and friendship really show through. Kylie then doesn't leave the party until 11:30pm before having to do it all over again the next day. If anything, this video opened my eyes to the fact that aside from dealing with press, being followed by paparazzi, attending events or simply, filming KUWTK, this 21-year-old is already up the walls with her day-to-day work/life balance. We just don't know how she does it.
