Abbey Clancy gives rare insight into her relationship with Peter Crouch

The couple have been married for over 12 years

The footballing legend is a household name and is one of the 33 footballers to score over 100 goals in the Premier League.

However, prior to entering the footballer lifestyle, Peter lived in conditions that his wife has labelled as 'filthy' and 'vile'.

The pair appeared on 'Inbetweeners' star James Buckley and his wife's podcast, 'In Sickness and In Health' and Abbey likened Peter's past abode to something the characters of the Inbetweeners would live in.

"I go to his house and it was literally like the inbetweeners lived there. He had a loaded money box next to his bed full of naked girls with pennies in it.

Peter then interjected and explained the money box: “My mother bought me that. I think she was worried about me.”

Abbey then continued to say that her husband had 'no bedding' and 'no food in the fridge'.

"There was a jar of pesto, and when I opened it, there was like mold,” she added.

"I had to go in and de-fung the whole flat. I had to buy bedding, I had to buy pans. He had like one mug.

"The house was filthy. He had a box to shave his pubes into. It was vile", which the football legend jokingly dubbed 'The squat box'.

The couple began dating in 2009 and tied the knot in 2011.

They share four children; Sophia, 12, Liberty, 8, Johnny, 5, and Jack, 4.
