Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have thanked fans for their support after they tragically lost their baby early on in pregnancy. Over the weekend, Britney announced that she has suffered a miscarriage, posting a joining message with her partner, Sam, on Instagram sharing the sad news. It read: "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. "Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength. "We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment." The caption accompanying the post read: "We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family. Thank you for your support." Sam has since broken his silence on the heartbreaking news, thanking fans for their kind messages during this tough time, and said that they were continuing to try for a family. "We have felt your support. We are taking things positively and moving forward with our future. It’s hard but we are not alone," Sam wrote on Instagram Stories. "Thank you for respecting our privacy. We will be expanding our family soon." Britney took to Instagram last month to share the news that she was expecting her third child. The 40-year-old shared an image of pink flowers alongside a the caption: "I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back… I thought “Geez … what happened to my stomach ???” "My husband said “No you’re food pregnant silly!!!” So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby… 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant. It’s growing !!!"
