Caroline Flack gives an update on winter Love Island ahead of the first ever season from Cape Town

The countdown to January is on.

Next year will mark the first ever winter Love Island as another batch of contestants make their way into ITV's luxurious villa with the hopes of finding love, finding fame and winning a sweet €50,000. In January 2020, the first ever winter version of the series will be kicking off, following speculation for years that due to the demand the series would run twice a year, it's now confirmed that it will be taking place in Cape Town, South Africa - with Caroline Flack giving The Sun a little update as to what we can expect.

"I literally cannot wait. It is going to be so hot. Probably the hottest one yet. "Cape Town, can you believe it? Love Island's twice a year now, it's going to be mad."

Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions at ITV, also spoke about the new season, saying: “Off the back of a record-breaking year, we're delighted to be bringing an extra series of our biggest and sunniest show to the 2020 schedule. "In response to this viewer appetite, a new batch of young singletons will deliver some highly anticipated post-Christmas romance and drama from our new and luxurious location." Bring it on!
