Cher has announced the death of her 96-year-old mother Georgia Holt. The singer confirmed the heartbreaking news on her Twitter account. She wrote, "Mom is gone". A representative for the singer also confirmed her mother's passing to E! News. Cher's mother was 96 years of age. https://twitter.com/cher/status/1601804644501508096 The singer recently opened up about her mother's health struggles. She confirmed that she had been in hospital with pneumonia recently, but has yet to confirm her mother's cause of death. Back in September, the Believe singer confirmed her mother was in the hospital. She told her followers on Twitter; "Sorry I've Been Mia. Mom's Been Sick Off & On. She Just Got Out Of Hosp. She Had Pneumonia. She's Getting Better." Fans have been sending supportive messages to the Turn Back Time singer following her heartbreaking announcement, One fan shared, "Oh Cher, I’m so sorry. There are no words I could come up with that would make this any easier, so I won’t try. Just know that I believe she’s in a better place." Another added, "I’m so very sorry to hear that your beloved mother has passed. My heart goes out to you. What a blessing to have had her in your life for as long as you did." Georgia Holt is survived by her partner Craig Spencer, and daughters Cher and Georganne LaPiere. The 96-year-old had a successful career as a model, singer, and actress.
