Prince William and his family have some pretty unique Christmas traditions

Spending Christmas Day in a castle sounds like a dream, but the royals have to follow some pretty dated traditions over the holidays.

For us, Christmas is all about being with the ones you love, whether that's your family, your friends, or your other half.

However, the royals don't spend all of Christmas morning together.

A former royal chef revealed the unusual tradition to the Daily Mail.

Chef Darren McGrady explained that the female members of the family all eat alone.

Prince William and the male members of the family are treated to a hearty breakfast before church.

"On Christmas Day, the ladies generally opt for a light breakfast of sliced fruit, half a grapefruit, toast, and coffee delivered to their rooms—the Queen’s tray was delivered at exactly 9:00 a.m.."

"The male royals, meanwhile, come downstairs to the dining room for a hearty breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with eggs, bacon and mushrooms, kippers, and grilled kidneys, to set them up for the 11:00 am church service at St Mary Magdalene. When they return, it’s straight into pre-lunch drinks."

Starting Christmas Day with a breakfast that Buddy the Elf would approve of is the only way to do it.

Being part of the royal family may seem like fun from the outside, but all these rules and traditions sound pretty stressful to me.

Give me a selection box for Christmas morning breakfast instead.
