Confirmed! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child

There's another royal baby on the way!

Meghan Markle is pregnant, it's been confirmed. Kensington Palace has announced that she and Prince Harry are set to become parents. The royal couple will welcome their first child next spring, officials have said. They are said to be delighted with the news. The palace statement reads:

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

Meghan and Harry have just touched down in Sydney to begin their first royal tour together. They're set to visit Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga over the next 16 days. It'll be non-stop for the parents-to-be as they've 76 engagements to attend during the trip. Meghan sparked pregnancy rumours when she stepped off the plane in Sydney in the past 12 hours. She was carrying two hefty purple folders that royal experts say are notes about the trip - but many speculated that she was shielding a baby bump from view.
