Except that someone was also a famous actor and she was naked sitting in her bathtub - at least she has a good excuse though.
Speaking on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 on Wednesday, Judi explained: "I can't see, Zoe. I can't see at all, so my phone is an anathema to me, I don't know what all those buttons are for."
The actress recently revealed she has macular degeneration, which causes the gradual loss of vision.
She added: "Anyway, Fint rang me one morning and said, 'It's Chris Logan's birthday and he's having a walk with Ben Whishaw in Regent's Park, please wish him a happy birthday?'"
Judi and Ben have starred alongside each other in several James Bond movies and even on stage together.
Continuing her story the 88-year-old said: "And then I went upstairs, got into my bath and I thought, 'Ooh I must send Chris Logan a happy birthday message.'
"So I picked up my phone and I said, 'Chris, happy, happy…', and I just saw these two people turn and go," and as if on queue she gasped.
"Well, It was FaceTiming them… I don’t know about FaceTime. Poor Chris… happy birthday!"
“What a birthday message… you can’t top that though can you,” host Zoe joked.
It comes after Judi revealed that she can't see on film sets anymore and isn't able to read scripts.
She revealed that her friends help her learn lines instead and she has a photographic memory.
