Dancing on Ice’s Ashley Banjo and his wife Francesca have welcomed their first child

Ashley Banjo has announced that he and his wife, Francesca, have welcomed their first child together - a baby girl. The Dancing on Ice judge took to Instagram on Saturday afternoon to share the happy news, as he revealed the newborn's gorgeous name. Alongside a black-and-white photo of him leaning in as Francesca held their little girl, he said:

"Our beautiful daughter came into the world at 6:45pm on 21st February 2019 - weighing a healthy 8lbs 13oz. Her name is Rose Adura Banjo. "I am in the deepest love ever with my little family @francescabanjo I love you and am so proud."

The couple announced in October last year that they were expecting a baby girl. Ashley shared a photo of himself holding a pair of pink mini-Converse, while Francesca held up an ultrasound scan. The professional dancer said at the time he was "so excited" to finally share their news. He continued:

"Now the time has come to finally say this out loud I have no idea what to say! "I don't know if words alone can explain how full of joy and happiness we both are. It has been a more difficult journey to this point than most people know but we are now here with one of the most precious gifts in the world... A little girl! "I have so many strong and incredible women around me, I know she will have great examples to follow. Especially this woman right here - my wife and my rock. "You are going to be the best mum in the world. I'm so excited to see our little one grow up and if by any chance she wanted to be like her daddy and bust a few moves, I've already got the dancing shoes covered! Can't wait to meet you little sweetie."
