Dancing on Ice’s Hamish Gaman announces engagement to Amelia Humfress

Hamish Gaman, of Dancing on Ice fame, is engaged to his long-term partner, Amelia Humfress.

Hamish and Amelia have been together for four years after originally meeting on dating app, Tinder. The professional skater shared the news via social media, alongside a snap of the couple from their recent interview with Hello! magazine. He said it was a relief to talk about something positive "after so much negativity". His Instagram post reads as follows:

"It’s finally time for some good news. We’re engaged. And we’ve now set a date!  @ameliaskating is the love of my life. After so much negativity, I can’t tell you how good it feels to talk about something positive. You can read all about it in @hellomag which is on sale tomorrow #dancingonice".

Hamish had been partnered with model Caprice Bourret during the recent series of Dancing on Ice but their partnership came to an end during the competition. The reason for this decision was not made public and Caprice later went on to dance with Oscar Peter. However, she decided to quit the show shortly after, more on that here. Speaking to Hello!, Hamish said that he's known for some time that he wanted to ask Amelia to marry him but recent events have spurred him on to plan the proposal earlier than expected.

"For the past few months I’ve been in a dark place which I couldn’t have got through without her. Recent events have made me realise just how much I love her".
