Deborah James in “disbelief” after fundraiser reaches £2 million mark

It's almost at the £3 million point.

Podcaster Deborah James has said that she is in a state of "disbelief", after her charity fundraiser for cancer raised over £2 million in just two days. Earlier this week, the podcast host told her fans that she does not know how much longer she has got left as she moved into hospice care. James was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016, and delivered the devastating news yesterday. In a post on Instagram, she told her followers that her team has tried everything, but her body "simply isn't playing ball". She continued: "My active care has stopped and I am now moved to hospice at home care, with my incredible family all around me and the focus is on making sure I’m not in pain and spending time with them." James also launched a fundraiser - the Bowel Babe Fund - which will raise money for charities she herself worked closely with over the past few years. Since her initial post, the fundraiser has already surpassed her expectations, with her original target set at £125,000. Now, with over 125,000 people donating, and over £2 million raised, Deborah has taken a moment to thank everyone who made it possible. In a story on Instagram, she wrote: "I’m utterly in [disbelief] to wake up to see £2 million in the fund! "Thank you for your generous donations. Thank you for helping me build a future where we can [show] Cancer who is boss. We have brilliant, enthusiastic talent in this country - let’s support them to do the best job they can to give more people more time living."
