The writer and creator of the hit HBO show Sam Levinson wrote: "There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon.”
He went on to speak about his mental health, which had worsen following the death of his father Conor Hickey earlier this month.
Levinson added: "He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”
Alexa Demie, who plays Maddy, also paid tribute, sharing a heartbreak emoji on Instagram when the news broke.
Storm Reid, who plays Gia on the show, shared a clip of Angus' character Fex and wrote: "The tears just won’t stop.”
