Evan Rachel Wood accuses Marilyn Manson of rape while filming a music video

Actress Evan Rachel Wood has accused rockstar Marilyn Manson of raping her while on camera filming the music video for his 2007 song Heart-Shaped Glasses. Speaking about her ordeal in Phoenix Rising, a new HBO documentary, Wood claims she did not consent to sexual intercourse with the singer on camera. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has denied these claims and dated Wood in 2006 when she was 18 and he was 37. "I didn't know how to advocate for myself or know how to say no, because I had been conditioned and trained to never talk back, to just soldier through," said Wood. "I could tell that the crew was very uncomfortable and nobody knew what to do. "I was coerced into a commercial sex act under false pretences... I was essentially raped on camera." The documentary reveals that Manson later allegedly pressured Wood into telling the media that there had not been any actual sex while filming the video. Wood's mum has also spoken out, recalling that she heard through a crew member that Manson had given her daughter absinthe "and whatever else," and she was unable to consent. Manson's Lawyer Howard King has denied the allegation, giving a statement to AFP and stating that "multiple witnesses" were there. He said Wood was "fully coherent" and "heavily involved in weeks of pre-production planning and days of post-production editing of the final cut." "The simulated sex scene took several hours to shoot with multiple takes using different angles and several long breaks in between camera setups," he said. "Brian did not have sex with Evan on that set, and she knows that is the truth." This is not the first sexual assault case that Manson has gotten as Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco has also made claims against him, with the Los Angeles police confirming there were investigating domestic violence allegations against the singer also.
