A music source told the publication: "This has been one of the best-kept secrets in pop, but it's actually happening now.
"The girls really came back together as friends to rally around when Sarah died, and it repaired some of the old rifts and put things into perspective.
"Suddenly the reunion which had seemed totally impossible for so long just felt a totally natural thing to do — in Sarah's honour."
The iconic group - consisting of Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts - arrived at the studio in North London wearing hats to try and hide their identities.
It is also reported that they are working on a new music video to go with the track with the band dressing up as superheroes and featuring footage of Sarah.
Girls Aloud originally formed in 2002 on ITV's Pop Stars: The Rivals and shot to fame, achieving 20 top-ten singles and five BRIT award nominations.
But they split for good in 2013 as rumours of feuds between the bandmates began to swirl.
After the band went their separate ways, Sarah went on to star in Coronation Street and even made an appearance in the 2017 edition of Big Brother.
In 2020 she announced she had breast cancer and that it had spread, before releasing a memoir in 2021 titled, Hear Me Out.
She sadly passed away on September 5th of that year.
