Gwyneth Paltrow on rekindling her acting career and who inspired her return

"I am excited to kind of get back into it and give it a real try"

This marks her first non-cameo or voice acting role in five years, following a period in which she mainly focused on her lifestyle brand, Goop, and other ventures outside of Hollywood. 

While Paltrow has spent the past several years redefining herself as an entrepreneur and wellness advocate, this new role hints at a potential rekindling of her acting career.

When asked if she has missed acting, Paltrow was very straight to the point: “Not really,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. 

“I am excited to kind of get back into it and give it a real try—see how it feels,” she explained, “and then I’ll let you know.” 

Paltrow's return to the screen was partly influenced by her daughter Apple, who encouraged her to take the role so she could star alongside Chalamet.

Her brother Jake, a fan of the film's director, Josh Safdie, also played a part in persuading her. 

Their combined encouragement appears to have been enough to convince Paltrow to re-enter the world of acting for now.

As Paltrow takes on this new challenge, it raises questions about whether this is a one-time project or the beginning of a more significant return to the craft that made her a household name.
