Gwyneth Paltrow has won her lawsuit after she appeared in court over an incident at a ski resort. A jury has ruled she is not liable for an accident that occurred at a US ski resort following claims from a retired optometrist and dismissed a $3.3m lawsuit he made. 76 year old Terry Sanderson claimed he had collided with Paltrow while skiing in Utah in 2016 and was left with four broken ribs and lasting psychological damage leading him to sue for compensation. Paltrow then countersued for a symbolic $1 and following an eight day trial, a jury in Park City unanimously found that Paltrow did not cause the crash. "I got hit in my back so hard and it was right at my shoulder blades, a serious, serious smack. I've never been hit that hard, and I'm flying," Sanderson told the jury earlier in the trial. "Last thing I remember, everything was black." He claimed the crash had left him with permanent brain damage and had altered his personality. Paltrow's defence team testified that Sanderson's version of the crash defied the laws of physics and said the evidence showed he had run into the back of her. Following two hours of deliberations, the jury returned and denied Sanderson's claim and awarded Paltrow with her $1.
