The Little Mermaid star announced the birth of her firstborn, a baby boy, on Instagram last night.

Halle shared a photo of her holding her baby boy's hand on Instagram to reveal her incredible news.

She also revealed her son's beautiful name by sharing a photo of a bracelet with his moniker on it.

The actress decided to call her beautiful baby boy Halo.

The name Halo is of Greek origin and has a truly beautiful meaning behind it.

Her baby boy's name means 'divine aura'.

Alongside the adorable photo, the new mum wrote: "Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son."

"Welcome to the world my halo, the world is desperate to know you," the new mum gushed.

Halle's followers showered her with loving messages following her special announcement.

Tia Mowry wrote, "Congrats beauty! Welcome to motherhood."

Nicki Minaj added, "Welcome to earth, Halo. We’ve been expecting you. congrats, mama!"

"I loved the name. welcome, Halo!!!!" another said.

This is Halle's first child with her partner DDG.
