Handmaid’s Tale actress reveals at the Emmys that she secretly got married

Congratulations are in order!

The Handmaid's Tale's Yvonne Strahovski has announced she tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend. The actress, who plays Serena Joy in the series, confirmed while on the Emmys red carpet that she and Tim Loden wed this summer. The couple, who have been together for more than six years after meeting on the set of Chuck, got married in a ceremony in Northern California. The Aussie star showed off the gorgeous wedding band on the red carpet as she shared her happy news. She told E! News:

"Yes I got married, it was over the summer. "There was a heatwave. "We ended up jumping in the lake in our suit and gown, just to cool down. "It was ridiculously hot. But we had a great time."

Her husband, who is also an actor, said that the ceremony was "fantastic" - even with the heatwave. He added:

"But we all made it through, we all did some dancing at the end of the night, it was fantastic."

The Handmaid's Tale had 13 nominations going into the 69th Emmy Awards, which were held over the weekend. The popular dystopian series ultimately walked away with 11 wins, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Images via Getty/E!News.
