Understandably, Holly is said to be "shaken" by all that has transpired and has gone on "indefinite leave" as she recovers from the ordeal according to The Daily Mail.
Now it has been revealed that she likely won't be back on the popular breakfast show until after the school half-term holidays are over in England with her first day back falling around October 30th.
Though ITV bosses have put no pressure on the star to return, The Mirror reported, they have granted her permission to stay at home for as long as she needs.
Speaking to the publication, a source close to Holly said: "It's difficult to think about any kind of work right now, let alone when your job is to present a live television show.
"She needs to be around her nearest and dearest and take the right advice from the right people, too."
The 42-year-old is being supported in private by her co-hosts as they all chip in to cover her usual TV spot.
The presenter was due to host This Morning on Thursday of last week, but producers pulled her from the lineup after the kidnapping plot was discovered.
The mum of three has been under police watch after it was revealed that a man in his 30s was planning on kidnapping her.
Police acted quickly and ensured the presenter had the right protection, but Holly was reportedly very shaken following the news.
Gavin Plumb, 36, stands accused of planning to kidnap and murder the TV presenter. Police have arrested the suspect and he has since been charged.
On Friday, Chelmsford Magistrates' Court was told the man had made a "detailed plan" with the US hitman over the internet, and Plumb was part of a network of like-minded individuals.
