The reactions to Meghan Markle’s ITV interview were very intense last night

It's safe to say the whole world felt for Meghan Markle after watching her and Harry's ITV documentary last night.

The documentary centred around Meghan and Harry's trip to Africa, but also touched on how hard the past few years have been with them in the spotlight. Meghan spoke candidly about her struggles, saying that she tried to keep her emotions suppressed - but that isn't healthy for anyone. After Harry & Meghan: An African Journey aired, the hashtag #WeLoveYouMeghan began trending with Twitter users offering words of support to the Duchess.

For a nation that love a love story, route for an underdog and are more in-tune to mental health than ever, we seem intent on destroying Meghan Markle. Are we really still putting paper sales over an individual's wellbeing? It's systematically sadistic and just really bloody sad.

Prince Harry also touched on the subject of the media during his own interview, saying that he doesn't want "a repeat of the past."

"I will always protect my family and now I have a family to protect.

"So everything that she went through, and what happened to her, is incredibly important every single day, and that is not me being paranoid, that is just me not wanting a repeat of the past."
