Irish YouTuber Melanie Murphy weds fiancé Thomas O’Rourke

YouTube star and author Melanie Murphy finally celebrated tying the knot with her partner Thomas O'Rourke over the weekend. The couple had planned their wedding two years ago in March 2020, but things were put on hold due to the pandemic. They decided to marry at the registry office and save the ceremony and celebrations for a time when Covid-19 restrictions weren't so harsh. Taking to Instagram to share a series of gorgeous photos from the big day, Melanie wrote: "10/10 would recommend having your actual wedding two years after officially getting married in a registry office… really takes the pressure off!" "A couple of years ago our wedding was cancelled as the first lockdown was announced literally the week before it was due to go ahead and when the initial shock wore off I realised that a wedding is simply like a cherry on top of a cake … the cake, that’s the marriage! I stand by those words. Cherries are f**king delicious." Melanie, who boasts a significant 629K subscribers on YouTube, first started dating Thomas in 2017, after being friends with him since she was a teenager. They welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in October 2020. She continued: "We had the best weekend ever despite the rain (and the fact that we were juggling the toddler-we-didn’t-expect-to-have-there-on-the-big-day with all of the celebrations. Literally had to strip naked to feed my son because the bodice of my dress was so stiff haha bought the yoke before I was even pregnant). "It was only so wonderful because the people in our lives are so wonderful. "Over the moon that we finally got to turn our dream day into a reality! Because the main thing we were excited about when we got engaged was the idea of standing up and saying vows in front of all the people we care about… also, bringing lots of the people we love together in one place!"
