John Barrowman reveals the way the I’m A Celeb campmates avoided falling out

John Barrowman has revealed that the I'm A Celebrity campmates had a secret method to keep from falling out with each other during their time in the jungle.

Many reality TV shows on the telly rely on things like arguments and meltdowns to keep fans glued to the screens. But, for its three week run, I'm A Celeb 2018 seemed to be way more chill and just a nicer time, overall. Yes, even with the creepy crawlies in the Bushtucker Trials. Well, The Arrow star  has revealed how the campmates managed to avoid rowing - and it was all down to a particularly unusual 'code word'. Speaking to This Morning's Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langford [via The Sun], he said:

"I enjoyed every second of it, and it was a challenge. That was the one thing – the decision to go in was to challenge myself and take myself out of my comfort zone.

"And I certainly did that. And the fact that everybody got along and we had a great time – there were times that things could have gone the other way, [but] we all established in the very beginning... We thought, 'Let's have a word'.

"The word was 'octopus'. So you're not saying anything like, 'Stop', 'Don't', 'Don't do that' to somebody. If someone was starting to behave weird or outrageous or be aggressive, we just walk up to them and go, 'Octopus'.

"It's fun to watch people get along because there are so many other programmes out there where meltdowns happen, and sometimes you think when the meltdowns happen, 'Why are you melting down? It really is not a big deal.'"

To be fair, it's an unusual enough choice that it would definitely stop any wobbles.
