Kate Middleton and Prince William made a 'marriage pact' before their engagement became the real deal.

Yes, according to one royal expert, the couple had a big discussion about their future while on holiday and the outcome was what has been described as an unofficial 'marriage pact'. The promise to each other came in 2007 as they were holidaying together in the Seychelles and it seemed like this was the perfect time to discuss their future together. Kate and William had recently reignited their relationship after a short split and were obviously eager to cement their relationship. Katie Nicholl, a long-time royal correspondent and commentator, has released her new book Kate: The Future Queen and here she revealed the couple's 'marriage pact' made over twelve years ago. Katie explained that William was keen to show a long-term commitment to Kate Middleton and so, the setting of such a beautiful and faraway location proved the perfect opportunity to do so.

"For the very first time, they talked seriously about marriage, and with the ocean before them and beneath the night sky, they made a pact to marry".

It's clear that this was a huge move in their relationship and from there, things only went from strength to strength. Three years later, their engagement was announced in 2010 and the royal wedding in April 2011 captured the hearts of fans all around the world. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge now have three children George, Charlotte and Louis with their brief break-up is a very distant memory. The couple recently completed a royal tour of Pakistan, described as their "most complex yet" and according to reports, they are are preparing earnestly for their future roles as King and Queen.
