With the second anniversary of her passing coming up this weekend, it's sure to be a difficult time for the Royal Family.
Royal expert Robert Jobson previously opened up about how the Princess of Wales supported her husband in the lead up to his grandmother's death.
He revealed how she understood the need to move closer to the Queen's residence at Windsor, and left Kensington Palace with their family to move to Adelaide Cottage.
In his book, Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography, he wrote that William "knew his time with his grandmother was precious and he is delighted they, as a couple, made that decision."
Jobson continued: "Catherine understood that for William, as a future king, it was important for him to be geographically closer to the late Queen in her final months when he was required to support both her and his father.
"It made a real difference. They were in regular contact, seeing each other in person and speaking on the phone several times a week, bringing them even closer."
The move to Adeleide Cottage also meant that their children could be closer to their school Lambrook.
The cottage underwent major renovations in 2015, and is located in the heart of the 655-acre Windsor estate, meaning it is incredibly close to the Queen's home of Windsor Castle.
