Kim Kardashian joked her family ‘scammed’ their way to fame

We've always heard that the Kardashians are "famous for being famous"

The insightful moment happened during the latest episode of The Kardashians when the famous clan got together to celebrate Scott Disick's 40th birthday.

As the Skims mogul spoke at the dinner to celebrate the big day she joked about their monumental rise to the top.

"Guys, we scammed the system," Kim declared, "We did it. Whatever it is, we figured it out and we did it. We put in some hard work."

The 43-year-old did take some time to acknowledge how Scott has been a member of their family since the start of their reality show.

Kim said that the birthday boy "supported me through thick and thin" and was with her "through every phase."

"[Remember] when you were on the cover of Dog Fancy?" Scott joked, to which Kim's family quickly clarified it was K9 Magazine.

"Anything for a cover!" the mother of four responded, joking that she didn't even like dogs.

Kim added later in a confessional, Scott’s my motivator. He’ll always say, 'God, can you believe you did it?' And I’m like, 'I can't, this is crazy.'

"We aren’t supposed to be here, like how did we get into this cool party? We weren’t the cool kids, how did we do it?"

It's clear that the Kardashians love Scott like a brother as Khloe said in her toast, "When we first met, you and I definitely had tension, but I really think it's the most genuine, real relationship that didn't start fake, it didn't start forced.

"I was really just like determined to not like you and like you came into my townhouse and took up my space and I was like this guy, get out of our little place, and now I love you genuinely.

"I consider you my brother when I talk about you to anyone and everyone. I love you, I adore you, and I want the best for you. You will find the best and the best will find you because all you deserve is greatness and I love you. Happy birthday."
