New details about Laura Whitmore's latest career move have emerged and we have all the information you need. Following her announcement that she would no longer be the host of Love Island last August, Laura is now taking a new route in media. The Sun has reported that the Bray native is set to go for an investigative journalism role with ITV and is set to explore the effects violent pornography has had on young people. Speaking about the new series with the TV station, an insider said: "Rough sex is a subject that taps into the grey areas that come with certain behaviours and how we navigate them. “We’re a society which is increasingly exposed to violence via the internet and that can lead to problems when that manifests itself in real life. “As in so many similar situations, that often means women bear the brunt of those problems, which is what Laura will be looking at in the doc.” They have also reported that Laura is producing three stand-alone shows for the platform ITVX. Laura announced in August that she would no longer be hosting Love Island, with Maya Jama taking over the show. The Irish TV presenter took over the role from Caroline Flack in 2020, and continued until this year. She announced she was stepping down from the role a few months ago before Maya Jama was revealed to be her successor. At the time, Laura hinted at a number of issues within the show as the reason behind her leaving, including the stress of travel while having a very young child. Now that the dust has settled on her departure, she spoke about how she was limited by the rules of Love Island. In a recent interview with Psychologies Magazine, she admitted that she struggled with not being able to support the contestants during stressful eliminations. "There was only so much I could do as a host," she said. "I couldn't support or not support them." Related links:
