Lady Gaga and her fiancé Christian Carino have broken up

Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Christian Carino, have broken up.

A representative for the A Star Is Born actress confirmed the news to PEOPLE magazine. A source added to the publication that there was "no long dramatic story", insisting that it just "didn't work out". They said:

“It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end. There’s no long dramatic story.”

Eagle-eyed fans began to wonder if the couple had called it quits when Gaga walked the red carpet at the Grammy Awards without Carino - or her engagement ring - earlier this month. Neither Carino or Gaga have commented on their split yet. The news comes four months after the Oscar nominee confirmed their engagement. Gaga and Carino were first linked in February 2017, when the two of them were spotted ahead of her Super Bowl half time show performance. They were previously speculated to have gotten engaged during the summer of 2017, although it wasn't until October the following year that it was confirmed. Gaga shared their happy news  in October 2018 when she thanked "my fiancé, Christian" during her speech at Elle‘s 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration. Gaga was previously engaged to Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney but the pair split back in July 2016 after five years together.
