Louise Cooney speaks out about Tattle Life controversy

Louise Cooney has opened up about the impact gossip forum Tattle Life has had on her

She said the website impacted her mental health and triggered her anxiety.

Louise said she tries to avoid the website, but that hasn't stopped it from impacting her mentally.

Even knowing people are trolling and being unnecessarily cruel about you online would damage your mental health.

She told The Irish Times:

"It has completely changed my life for the last five years. It’s something I’ve never spoken about.

"It’s incredibly traumatising and hurtful. Some of the things that have been said and written, and not having control over your digital footprint in that way, is really upsetting."

As well as the concerning impact it had on her mentally, Louise Cooney also said it was harder to trust people.

She explained to the publication:

"It’s made me less trusting of people. It makes me second-guess people’s intentions. And it makes me question everything that I do, how I share."

Tattle Life has often been referred to as one of the most toxic parts of the internet.

Many Irish influencers have been speaking out about Tattle Life since Neil and Donna Sands sued owner Sebastian Bond in a defamation and harassment lawsuit.

Sebastian Bond was revealed as the owner, and since then, celebrities, the public, and influencers have spoken out about the treatment they received from the gossip forum.

The tech entrepreneurs won €300,000 in their defamation and harassment lawsuit over the “abusive comments” made on the forum.

Many celebrated the outcome of the case and hope it will bring an end to the toxic website.
