The posts seemed to really hurt some fans with many of them calling the pregnancy joke "thoughtless".
One woman took to Twitter to share her opinion and tagged the pair.
She said they "don’t think this is something either of you should be joking about."
Another fan said they were currently experiencing pregnancy loss and found it difficult to see the couple "joke about being pregnant".
One follower asked: "What on earth is Maisie Smith’s Instagram story? Pregnancy jokes are not and never will be amusing."
Another fan added: "Pregnancy jokes are not, and never will be funny.
"You’ve hurt many people, fans, with those thoughtless stories tonight. People who have lost children. People who cannot conceive for whatever reason. Please do better."
