Credit: Getty Images[/caption] Margot Robbie admitted that her friends were teasing her for not managing to lock lips with Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken, for the entire movie. She told People in an interview that the absence of an on-film smooch "didn't feel like a win". She said: “All of my girlfriends were like, ‘Well you did a whole movie with him and you don’t kiss? What’s wrong with you? I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!’" Thankfully, Robbie took it lightly and said her snog list is still a Gosling free zone: “I was like, ‘I know, I can’t check that one off [my list]'.” To be fair, if we were on set with Ryan Gosling playing opposite him and a kiss wasn't on the cards, our friends would probably be fuming for us too. They do attempt to kiss during the film at one point, but in typical plastic doll style, they couldn’t get their lips close enough. Of the scene, Gosling said: “It was so funny trying to figure out what their idea of kissing might be.” Even without kisses of any kind between Barbie and Ken, Greta Gerwig's film has broken box office records as it became the highest opening weekend for a film directed by a woman. In Ireland alone, the movie earned €2,098,132 in the Irish box office this weekend, a better opening weekend than any other this year or last year, while Oppenheimer, starring out own Cillian Murphy, also had a strong opening weekend taking in €1,134,635 in Ireland.
