Mark Wright opens up about how emotional it was to watch Michelle Keegan in ‘Fool Me Once’

"I broke down"

The couple, who married in 2015, have been together for over 10 years.

In her latest career project, Michelle stars as the lead character in the thriller series, which has received huge acclaim since it dropped on Netflix.

Mark has since opened up about watching his wife play the role of Maya Stern in the series, which has enjoyed global success just one week after its release.

"I can't tell you how many people have texted me about Fool Me Once... my wife's new Netflix show if you haven't seen it, I'm not being biased," the TOWIE star confessed on his radio show.

"It really is incredible. Everybody in the world seems to be watching my wife on Netflix at the moment. Absolutely incredible. But I get asked a lot, right? Is it weird watching your wife play a character on a show?

"And by the way, before I met my wife, I would have been asking that same question.

"But I think it's probably because in a credit to her she's that good at what she does, that it doesn't feel weird at the time I completely snap out of the fact that that person on that screen playing Maya is Maya the person on the screen instead of my wife who is sat right next to me."

The football pundit continued by sharing that, like many viewers, the series had him on the 'edge of his seat'.

He also admitted that Michelle's performance reduced him to tears.

"I turned to my left to tell my wife how much I loved it and how proud I was and yeah, I broke down I got a lump in my throat I did cry like a little bit of soppy, but I think it was just that moment of watching my wife on the screen.

"And just finding her absolutely impeccable at what she does, she works so hard to get to where she's got to … seems that people are loving it."

'Fool Me Once' has reached number one in the world and across 60 countries on Netflix after launching on the platform on January 1st.

"So when I'm telling her that how proud I am I'm like oh, my wife's back in the room. I'm in the living room... we're about to have a takeaway together," Mark continued.

"It's just a really surreal moment. So I think that was just a moment for me to say, Michelle, I'm so proud of you. You're incredible."
