Maura admits that some scenes on Love Island were, in fact, re-shot

Maura Higgins has admitted some scenes on Love Island were, in fact, re-shot.

There's no denying that each season of Love Island has its own controversies. However, there is one thing that is pretty much guaranteed to happen: there's going to be some kind of claim that the show is 'scripted' or 'fixed'. From people moving steps mid-conversation to questions to people losing their fake nails 'within minutes': fans have always been convinced  there's more to the series than meets the eye. And now it looks like Maura has confirmed what fans have suspected, as she admitted some scenes were re-shot. In an Instagram Q&A after her appearance on the Late Late Show last week, she said:

"Yeah, we did [re-shoot]. Just say, for instance, if a text came through and you weren't loud [enough] or if you stumbled on your words, you'd have to re-take obviously. "Some words I'd say wrong and I had to do it again. That happened a lot, actually."

Elsewhere in the Q&A, the 28-year-old admitted she got the entire villa in trouble one evening. Recalling how she broke the rules at one point to get an extra bit of wine, she said:

"I should never tell, but I'm gonna... "Some nights you get one glass of wine, some nights you get two, you either get a choice of beer or wine, I always choose wine.

"One night I went into the larder where the drinks get prepared and there's like a water dispenser there. I went in before everyone else and I downed everyone's wine and I filled it up with water.

"And I got in really big trouble. The whole island got punished the following night because I got really drunk. I shouldn't have probably said that. I'll get in big trouble now!"
