Meghan Markle has made her first public appearance since stepping back as senior royal.

The Duchess of Sussex joined Prince Harry at the Endeavour Fund Awards on Thursday night, in one of their last official engagements before they quit life as senior royals. The couple celebrated the achievements of those injured in service who have taken part in remarkable sporting and adventurous challenges after experiencing injury or illness in service. Four awards were given on the night: the Recognising Achievement Award, Celebrating Excellence Award, Henry Worsley Award and the new Community Impact Award, which celebrates the team contributing the most to their community. During the awards ceremony, Danny Holland - a military veteran who won the Recognising Achievement award - proposed to his partner, much to the delight of the crowd. The audience applauded for the couple, with Meghan having tears in her eyes during the sweet moment. Later in the ceremony, the Duchess of Sussex told the audience how it was "very nice to be back" as sh announced the winner of the Celebrating Excellence Award. "It’s the third year that I’ve had the incredible fortune of joining my husband here, and as you all know – I can feel – it is the most inspiring space," she said, via The Sun.  "I will say when we were watching the videos, all the way in Canada, we had the same moments as you too – how are you going to choose? So we’ve done our best." In January, the couple announced that they were planning to step back from life as senior members of the royal family - and that they would be sharing their time between North America and the UK.
