Meghan Markle slammed for ‘disrespectful’ move in latest appearance

Ever since they returned from their honeymoon, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - have had a whirlwind of public appearances. Their most recent one took place on Tuesday, as they attended the Queen's Young Leaders Awards, which honours young people from a cross the Commonwealth, tonight. However, there was one thing in particular that royal fans were quick to zero in on: the way the Duchess of Sussex was sitting. The former actress had been seen adopting the Duchess Slant at sitting at formal events in the lead up to her wedding last month, as well as at formal events since. The move is when the knees and ankles are clasped together and legs are slanted to the side - and it's a firm favourite of Duchess Kate Middleton. On Tuesday night, many royal fans were quick to point out that Meghan, who was wearing a light pink Prada dress for the occasion, sat a different way. We know - horrifying, right? Anyways, some photos of the evening showed Meghan crossing her legs instead of clasping her knees and ankles together - which, of course, did not go unnoticed by social media users. One person pointed out in the Facebook comments:

"Duchess of Sussex has her legs crossed wrong. What a disrepect to the queen. "All royal ladies cross at the ankles or put both legs off to the side."

"Let's focus on the wonderful honourees and NOT legs , dresses or etiquette - these young people deserve more focus."

Another person urged people to give the Duchess of Sussex a break, adding that "36 years of crossing your legs is a hard habit to break." Someone else wrote:

"Pretty sure the Queen is more concerned with Meghan's passion and commitment to the Commonwealth than how she crosses her legs."
