Molly-Mae opens up about a parenting challenge every Mum can relate to

Molly-Mae has opened up about her recent struggles with daughter, Bambi, and most parents will be able to relate

The Maebe Founder shared that her daughter can’t even bear her being out of sight, even for a moment in the shower or while running a quick errand in another room. 

Like Molly-Mae, many parents will find themselves juggling the need for even a small amount of time to themselves with a toddler who seems to have an unbreakable radar for separation.

“Bambi’s in her clingy era, where it's mummy, daddy or no one ” Molly-Mae explained. 

"I feel interested in how it's going to go [on holiday to Dubai with her]. I feel like when I take her out of her safe environment and her usual surroundings, she doesn't really enjoy herself.

"I took her to mum's the other weekend for a weekend at my mum's, quite frankly it was a complete and utter disaster. 

“She literally cried for three days straight and was being clingy to the point of I couldn't actually get in the show without getting in with her. 

“My mum had to hold her outside of the shower so that she could see me through the glass."

She explained that she can’t step away without her daughter immediately feeling her absence. 

Showering, bathroom breaks, and small tasks become logistical challenges as Bambi is constantly looking for her mom, bringing Molly-Mae to the point of having to shower with her daughter just to keep her calm. 

Molly-Mae continued: "She was like, 'No, I need to be IN the shower with mum'. So we had to put her in the shower with me. I couldn't even have a... Like, all the toilet trips she was sat on my lap. If I went out of her eyesight, screaming and crying. I'm like ,woah, this is a whole new thing. I don't really know how to combat this."

This attachment phase can be especially intense during times of transition, like a big move, a new family structure, or simply being in a new environment. 

In Molly-Mae’s case, Bambi’s need for her mom’s constant presence may be partly a reaction to recent family changes, like the split from Tommy Fury. 

“I feel like she can sense that things are strange right now,” Molly-Mae shared, noting how her daughter is tuned into changes even though she’s still so young.

"I think she can definitely sense that obviously there are changes and things are strange at the minute.

"I can really feel that she can sense that which is very interesting considering she's just a baby. 

“I feel like, they're not stupid, they can really pick up on things. I also think that she weed on the sofa this morning just when I started filming this, I looked down and there was a big wet patch in front of me literally where she was sitting.

“She was wearing a nappy so I'm not quite sure how that's happened."
