Molly Mae shows her scars as she explains endometriosis surgery

"The operation was way, way harder to go through than I thought."

Molly Mae Hague has shown fans the scars on her stomach from her endometriosis surgery. The former Love Island star underwent surgery for the condition in early October this year. In a Youtube video where the 22-year-old was trying on different workout clothes, she decided to explain some of the markings on her stomach to viewers. "My stomach is still not fully back to normal from my endometriosis operation," she said. "Not that I need to justify why my stomach doesn't look extra tight today but that is why." Pointing to a scar on her stomach she said: "This is just one of the little scars from where they went in to my stomach." She then went on to explain how surgeons also went in through an incision near her bellybutton to remove endometrial tissue. She added that they went in lower down too before joking: "I don't think you really want to see my vagina so I won't show you those ones!" Endometriosis is a painful condition where tissue, like the lining of the womb, starts to grow in other places – such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the lining of the stomach. According to The Endometriosis Association of Ireland, one in ten Irish women suffer from the condition. Molly Mae recently spoke out about how she was a "mess" after the surgery. "The operation was way, way harder to go through than I thought. "My recovery time was quite a bit longer than I had planned, and I was just a bit of a mess after that surgery. "A lot of the things I've been talking to you guys about recently is like, my health is not great, I've been dealing with this, I've been dealing with that. "But my endometriosis operation was the last thing now." She had previously spoke out about the excruciating pain caused by the condition, comparing it to labour pain.
