Niall Horan had quite the mortifying moment on a live radio show

AWKWARD.

After the news reached us that Niall Horan signed a solo record deal with Universal over Simon Cowell's Syco music company, Niall seemed to have finally broken his low profile that he took since the split of One Direction. Releasing his solo single This Town, the Mullingar singer debuted the song on Twitter and Facebook on Thursday and posted a message thanking fans.

"Been working in the studio and I wanted to share this song with you guys. I wrote ‘This Town’ with Jamie Scott & I hope ya love it as much as we do. Thank you for always being there. You are the best fans in the world!"

Despite the release of his single, it seems some fans have forgotten about him. Appearing on KIIS 1065's radio show with Kyle and Jackie O, Niall was promoting his new single when a slightly rude 'fan' rang in to have a chat with him. According to METRO, a student called Eve rang into the show where presenter Kyle told her

"Tell [your fellow students] you’re on the line with Niall right now and they will totally lose their minds, go on."

Eve really showed up Niall when she replied with

"But I live in Canada. No one really cares."

After a long awkward pause, Kyle tried to save embarrassment for Niall by insisting that he's a big deal!

"‘What do you mean they won’t care? Freaking Niall’s on the phone!"

Poor Niall. We still love you pet?
