Nicola Gallagher, ex wife of former Derry senior football manager Rory Gallagher, released a statement last week claiming that he severely abused her during their marriage.
Among the many horrific claims, she said her estranged husband pushed her down the stairs during one of her pregnancies.
Since the news broke, Rory resigned from his post as manager and the GAA has been under fire for allegedly missing emails from disclosing the abuse.
It has been reported that Nicola's father sent five emails to the organisation but received nothing back. The GAA claim the emails were sent to a "defunct" email.
Now, it has emerged that Nicola's family organised a fundraising drive in her hometown to raise money for domestic violence charity, Women's Aid.
Nicola and her family come from a well-known business family in Belleek, Co Fermanagh.
The whole community rallied together and raised over €10,000 for Fermanagh Women's Aid in just 10 days.
A fundraising drive was organised by Rooney's Gift Store in the town, which is owned by members of Ms Gallagher's extended family.
Yesterday, the shop made a post to celebrate the success of their fundraiser.
The Facebook post read: "You've only just gone and bloody done it.
"Together we have raised a massive £10,000 for Fermanagh Women's Aid in just 10 days.
"Thank you so, so much to everyone who helped us with the collection and for your generous donations! The response to this cause has been phenomenal."
