Olly Murs responds to rumours he is dating Love Island’s Zara McDermott

Olly Murs has responded to rumours he is dating Love Island's Zara McDermott. Rumours of a possible romance started swirling earlier this month, after eagle-eyed fans noticed Zara and Olly had started liking each others' Instagram posts. But Olly has now ended any possible speculation as he insisted there wasn't anything romantic happening between them. Speaking to The Sun, he added that he thought the reason behind the rumours was "funny". He said:

"I just find it funny. That's the world I live in in the dating world. If you like anyone's photos you're automatically dating them, it’s just crazy.

"I spoke to Zara after seeing her the other week in Sheesh with my mates. We were chatting about music because she loves singing.

"I'd seen on her Instagram that she likes to sing and as a fellow singer you go, 'Wow, you're a real singer'. That's not dating someone, that's giving someone a compliment."

He also recently spoke to the publication about why he wouldn't want to date anyone who is in the public eye again. He told The Sun:

"Hats off to anyone who can date someone in the public eye. "I’d feel uncomfortable because I’m a private person, I don’t know if I’d cope with it. "Dating someone in the celeb world gives me anxiety."

Zara recently split from her boyfriend Adam Collard, whom she met while on Love Island last summer. In a statement released in February, she said she was "heartbroken" but would "always have a special place in my heart" for him.
