People think Olly Murs’ now-deleted tweet is about Melanie Sykes

Hmmmm.

Earlier today, reports emerged that singer Olly Murs and TV presenter Melanie Sykes have been dating for over a year. Although neither Olly nor Melanie has confirmed the rumours, a source said they were dating but were reluctant to go public with their new romance. They were even pictured together back in April with mother of two Melanie sharing the image on her Instagram account.

However, a tweet sent by the former X Factor contestant today suggests that the so-called romance is just speculation. According to The Mirror, Olly tweeted earlier today sending an image of actor and comedian, Steve Carrell, laughing with the simple message "hahaha good one". Although there's no concrete evidence that this was to do with the suggestion of a new relationship, fans have been quick to jump to conclusions. One wrote:

"Damn it! Thought I was in with a chance there with you suddenly being into older women".

As you may know, Olly is 33 years old and Melanie is 14 years his senior at 47 but whether there's actually anything going on between the two remains to be seen.
