While the picture looked like just about any other one you would see on a travel Instagram feed, there was actually a mouse cursor in the bottom left corner.
After digging into the origins of the photo, they found what appears to be the original one on a travel blog from the camera company, Canon - the biggest differences between them being that she cropped and filtered her photo.
It appears as if that wasn't the only photo that was taken from the internet.
She posted a photo of the Jing'an Temple, a 780-year-old Buddhist shrine in Shanghai, which showed a crowd of tourists surrounding it and taking pictures.

But an Instagram photo posted to @shanghainowandthen in 2016 has the exact same view, with the tourists standing in the exact same position - including the woman in the noticeable yellow coat.

Some of the original photos which had been speculated to have been faked have had their comments updated.
One of the pictures showed a red wooden door and the entryway of the Yu Garden in Shanghai - which a zoomed-out version can be seen on the websites for Pullman Hotels and Isangoo!.

The caption has been updated to say that the photo was found on Pinterest.

Another one, which was of the Terracotta Warriors in the ancient city of Xi'An, could be seen on the My Little Adventure tour-promotion website.
The caption has been updated to say that the photo as taken from tumblr.
The actress also recently shared a photo of a pastel-coloured building, which she originally said was from her trip to Hong Kong.

She updated the caption, removing #ShaycationHongKong, so it read:
